Purpose

A while back (in my UCFV Pipeline) I saw a notice that there was a religious group that was starting a prayer meeting. I phoned UCFV to ask if there was a Christian prayer time, I was told to phone the Student Union Society (SUS). When I phoned there was no response, I left two messages, one was about the health plan and the other was about a prayer time. I was phoned back about the health plan, but have never received an answer regarding the Christian prayer time. So it got me thinking that we should have something where Christians can either meet in person or maybe just have encouragement of others posting online to see what others at UCFV are facing and that we can pray for one another (James 5:16-17). Throughout the New Testament there are numerous times where encouragement was given and needed. I know personally that it is very important for me to continue to strive to reach the goal or prize.
At UCFV and in our world we are bombarded with ideas contrary to what the Bible teaches, it is up to us to stand together and run the race together, striving for the eternal prize while encouraging one another and lifting each other up to the Lord in prayer.
If you have any ideas what else we can do with this blog, please let me know and we can discuss it. The purpose that I want to get across is: Finding out the needs of each other so we can pray and encouraging one another.
